The 17-8’s explained

17 is a double letter. A double letter means you are moving from something to something. In this case you are moving from subservient to sovereign. Your soul chose to place you in situations where you are subservient to others. Usually, it starts out with your parents being overly oppressive. Then you find yourself giving away your power to others in relationships, jobs, teachers, etc. You have trouble making a decision without consulting someone you feel is more important than you are. Your job is to take back your power and separate from these dysfunctional relationships. 17s are all about speech so it is Mercury energy. You are good in business, teaching, and reasoning skills. You may struggle with rationalizing anything even when it is against your morals. You can be opinionated and don’t listen when others talk. There is something here about mercury poisoning or a poisoning of some other kind.

The 8 is Cancer energy. It is the grounding energy that connects you to the physical earth. It’s about sight and the ability to see the future. The body part is the right hand which is extending to everyone. You are sensitive and protective of people. Clairvoyant but only when it comes to the future. You can be too sensitive and overly emotional. You try to fix people instead of letting them fix themselves. Because this is all about seeing the future, you may struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts. You need people to need you.

If you have a 17-8 in your physical karma area, you will have to work to get through this. Always start with your physical karma. You won’t be able to get very far with the rest of your chart unless you work on this karma first. If you have this number in your physical goals area, this could be a career path. 

17-8 karma 

Because of your domineering parents, you have some disturbing feelings of underachievement. Really ungrounded and you have no self-worth.  You numb out with things that help you forget these feelings. Could have rook chakra problems like testicular or cervical cancer.

17-8 talents 

You are a great public speaker. The more you use your voice to express yourself, the more confident you get. You speak your truth. It is not something you have to work at. You actually can’t help but speak your truth.

17-8 goals 

You are a public speaker of some kind in mainstream society. You learn to allow your spirit to flow through you in a way that people can relate to you. 

17-8 soul destiny 

You need to achieve specific things in society depending on the talents in your chart.

Support for the 17-8s

The first thing you need to do is express any feeling you have no matter how oddly it comes out. You relied on others to tell you how, when, and where you could feel something. Not that you wanted it that way but that was the system your parents set up. Being able to express your feelings was not something you could do. Your goal is to allow your feelings to flow and then being able to talk through them. But first you have to allow them to get out.

Healing for the childhood suppression. Being able to talk through these feelings is important. Even more important, you need someone to really listen to you. You may need to find a therapist who makes you feel heard. Or, you may have someone in your life already who can be there for you in this way.
